Going Through Pictures

Here are some pictures I found from the last year.

Not really sure what she was looking at.

Tin Caps Game

This year we finally got with the program and the kids participated in the library's Summer Reading Program.  The kids had a blast doing this.  Getting our kids to read has never been a problem around here, so they were excited to earn prizes for something they already love to do.  Among the prizes were free kids meals at Applebee's (which we used this week), and free tickets to a Ft. Wayne Tin Caps game.  This also included a gift (bag) and a hot dog, chips, and a drink.  We had a great evening together at the ball park.
Growing up my family had season tickets to the Indianapolis Indians.  So, for me this was a great flashback to summertime growing up.  We loved going to the ballpark and watching games.  It was great to be able to do this with our kids (at a much reduced cost thanks to the library.)  Isobel did not join us on this venture.  She would not have appreciated being confined to seats during a 3 hour game.  Not to mention the 45 minute car ride each way.  Here are some pictures from the ballpark!

Indiana State Fair

Well, I know the fair was a while ago, but you know how great I am at keeping this current!  We try to go down to my parents every summer to make it to the Indiana State Fair.  This has become a time that we all look forward to and enjoy.  Luckily my parents live in Indianapolis, so we try to go in the morning, go back to their house for naps, and then go back in the evening with them.  It really is a great day, despite what the first picture looks like. :)
Okay, so a day at the fair is fun, but not the best for pictures.
This is the best we got of all four of them.
Ethan driving.  (Wesley took this picture!)
Elizabeth was excited to find a pink tractor.
(Wesley took this one too.)

The kids participated in this activity where they pretended to be farmers.
This was Wesley along the way to harvesting his crops.

This is Dennis' tractor that he has worked really hard to restore.
He was able to take it down the the fair and have it there with the other tractors.
We went to find it and then of course had to take pictures.
The kids love to climb on it.  Isobel, however, was not nearly as impressed.
Just a nice picture of the three of them.
I'm sure I was holding Isobel because she was screaming.  :)

A Great Picture With GG

Well, a rare thing happened this summer.  We even have it documented.  We have pictures with all four kids looking at the camera, and even smiling!  We were visiting my Grandma and decided to take some pictures outside since it was such a beautiful day.  We love spending time with GG.  The kids love to play games and read books with her.  We always have a wonderful time!

Ethan & Wesley's Baptism

Last Sunday we had our church service at the park.  We do this at least once a year.  We have a nice park here in town with a lake in it.  We have our worship service here, a baptism, and then a picnic.  This year was extra special for us as parents.  Wesley and Ethan were both baptized.  It was a special honor for Jeff to be able to baptize his sons.  We are so proud of them and the young men they are becoming.

Happy Birthday Wesley

Wesley turned 7 on September 6th.  His request was to go to Yo-Yo's in Fort Wayne.  So, we went there for supper.  It is hard to believe how much he has grown up.  He loves to read and is such a great big brother.  We are so proud of him!

Enjoying the Snow

We have enjoyed the snow here recently.  Well, Jeff is probably tired of shoveling it, but we have enjoyed looking at it.  The kids ventured out recently to play in it.  After all of the bundling up, they ran straight for the swing set.

Trying to Catch a Smile

Isobel has been showing us her lovely smile quite a bit this last week.  I would love to show you  a picture of it, but I can't seem to get one on camera.  Well, that and we have all been sick here this week, so I haven't done a good job of taking pictures.  So far, this is the best I've got.  Actually, I think it's quite cute! :) (Hopefully tomorrow I will get a better one.) The picture of her and Ethan was just so cute I had to put it up.

A Few Recent Pictures

Here are a few pictures from around here.  It has been a busy last month or so around here.  Since it's been rather cold and snowy around here recently, we have been playing a lot of board games and putting together puzzles.  We are adjusting to being a family of 6.  Isobel is a good baby, she is serious most of the time, but has been smiling in the last few days.  We are so blessed to have her.  Wesley, Ethan, & Elizabeth love their sister and are a big help.

Trip to Mississippi

We took a recent family vacation to Jackson, Mississippi.  I know, quite the tropical location, but we went back to visit friends and our church from when Jeff was in seminary.  We had a great time.  On the way, we stopped in Nashville, TN and visited my friend Abby.  She was still at work when we got there so we found a playground to explore.  The kids had a great time, especially since they had been in the car all day.
All 3 kids in 1 picture, looking at the camera, and smiling! :)

Elizabeth was finally brave enough to slide down the slide.
It doesn't look like it, but it was a very steep slide.

Wesley had a great time conquering
everything on the playground equipment.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth

I am a bit overdue on this post, but it is within a week!  So, I guess there is improvement.  Elizabeth has been such a blessing to us.  She always knows how to make someone smile.  She is looking forward to being a big sister soon.  She keeps telling us she is going to help us pick out the baby's clothes.  Yes, she does love clothes, shoes, sparkles, ruffles, and the color pink.  (She must get it from Jeff!)

Elizabeth turned 3 last Friday.  We celebrated by taking a trip to Ft. Wayne.  We went to the History Center, it was a neat museum with history about Ft. Wayne and northeast Indiana. The kids had fun looking at all of the displays.  Then we went and walked around Parkview Field, had lunch and did some shopping. The highlight of Elizabeth's day was having her pictures taken.  She got to pick out her favorite dress and had fun posing for the camera.

On Sunday we had her birthday party.  Every time someone asked her what she wanted for her birthday she said cake, so  she was a happy girl on Sunday.

I just liked this picture of them all together at the History Center.
Jeff posing with the kids before they ran around the concourse.  I opted to just sit and watch while Jeff walked behind them.

First Tooth

Well, we've entered another phase of life here at the Wolheter house.  We are now a house that has kids with holes in their mouths.  Wesley lost his first tooth today.  There has been much anticipation of this day around here, because it has been wiggly for about a month. It finally happened, and in quite dramatic fashion I might add.  We were having lunch (pancakes) when Wesley said, "Ahhh!"  Then his tooth popped out on the table.  "It didn't even hurt." was his next statement.  He is very proud of his missing tooth, and we are very proud of him! :)

September 27, 2010

Contrary to what it would appear by the pathetic attempt made to keep this blog up to date this summer, we are still alive & well!  Here are some recent pictures of the kids.  I told them if they took a nice picture I would let them have a silly one, so you get to see both.  Have a wonderful day!
