Tin Caps Game

This year we finally got with the program and the kids participated in the library's Summer Reading Program.  The kids had a blast doing this.  Getting our kids to read has never been a problem around here, so they were excited to earn prizes for something they already love to do.  Among the prizes were free kids meals at Applebee's (which we used this week), and free tickets to a Ft. Wayne Tin Caps game.  This also included a gift (bag) and a hot dog, chips, and a drink.  We had a great evening together at the ball park.
Growing up my family had season tickets to the Indianapolis Indians.  So, for me this was a great flashback to summertime growing up.  We loved going to the ballpark and watching games.  It was great to be able to do this with our kids (at a much reduced cost thanks to the library.)  Isobel did not join us on this venture.  She would not have appreciated being confined to seats during a 3 hour game.  Not to mention the 45 minute car ride each way.  Here are some pictures from the ballpark!

Indiana State Fair

Well, I know the fair was a while ago, but you know how great I am at keeping this current!  We try to go down to my parents every summer to make it to the Indiana State Fair.  This has become a time that we all look forward to and enjoy.  Luckily my parents live in Indianapolis, so we try to go in the morning, go back to their house for naps, and then go back in the evening with them.  It really is a great day, despite what the first picture looks like. :)
Okay, so a day at the fair is fun, but not the best for pictures.
This is the best we got of all four of them.
Ethan driving.  (Wesley took this picture!)
Elizabeth was excited to find a pink tractor.
(Wesley took this one too.)

The kids participated in this activity where they pretended to be farmers.
This was Wesley along the way to harvesting his crops.

This is Dennis' tractor that he has worked really hard to restore.
He was able to take it down the the fair and have it there with the other tractors.
We went to find it and then of course had to take pictures.
The kids love to climb on it.  Isobel, however, was not nearly as impressed.
Just a nice picture of the three of them.
I'm sure I was holding Isobel because she was screaming.  :)
